Riding AcademyThe foundation of any horse and rider
relationship is to develop the skills and confidence to
handle a horse from the ground. Rocking C teaches "from
the ground up," meaning that all students will learn how
to groom, tack up and manage a horse from the ground
before mounting. The skills and confidence a student
develops on the ground has a direct impact on her or his
riding skills.
Horses and
Facilities
Our string of lesson horses range in
age from 10 to 20, have very good manners, a gentle
temperament, and are well suited for beginner and
intermediate riders.
We also lease our lesson horses as well...join the
Riding Club!
We have 3 lighted, groomed riding
arenas (one of which is indoor), two round pens, three
tack rooms, a wash room, a viewing room and a 28-stall
barn.
Staff
Our staff is experienced in teaching
both children and adults. Staff members are very
concerned with providing a safe, positive educational
experience.
Safety
Since safety is most important,
helmets are REQUIRED for all riders under the age of 18
and encouraged for all riders. We provide helmets that
are sanitized after each use. Riders are welcome to
bring their own helmets provided they meet our safety
requirements. Long pants and proper footwear are also
required.
Group Lessons All group lessons (maximum of 6 riders per class)
last one hour and includes the students tacking up their
assigned horses. A rider must be at least 7 years old to
participate in group lessons.
Rate: $20 per person per hour limited to five riders.
Private Lessons
Private lessons can be scheduled for shorter or
longer periods depending on the needs and age of the
rider. The minimum age for private lessons is 6. We have
found that for really young riders, 30-45 minutes of
instruction is optimal for success and enjoyment. Our
private lesson rate is prorated for abbreviated lessons.
Rate: $30 - $35 per person per hour, depending on instructor.
Semi-Private Lesson: $25 per person per hour limited to two or three.
For ages 6 or 7: we do private lessons that are $18 for 30 minutes or $23 for 45
minutes.
